A little history----

2430 Hannan Road, Canton Michigan 48188

Our property was originally owned by the Hannan family, for whom our road is named after. 

William Hannan owned property here in Canton back in 1882!  Lettie Hannan married Daniel T. Davis.  Daniel worked the Northeast section of the Hannan farm.  Located at the Southeast corner of Palmer and Lotz Rd.  His pay was 2/3 of the harvest price.*

The Hannan's built this house in 1923. 

Over the decades portions of the original farm were sold off.  it came to be a private dog breeding kennel, of only two acres, by Sherry Hannan- Novak, who now lives in Britton, MI.

Valley of the Hounds History:

October 2010-New reception area being created-More open, well-lit, and sturdy.

August 2010-Grooming area complete! No more back breaking bathing in the house tub!  Easy access stairs for safe entry and exit.

August 2009-Minor changes to gates and daycare area.

July-November 2009-Fence permit approved-North perimeter fence completed.

June 2009- Open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony to show off our hard work.  Lots of wonderful people showed up to celebrated with us!

April-May 2009-radiant heat strips placed under beautiful tile in Uptown(Our indoor-outdoor kennels). This is to keep our arthritic and older guests comfortable in the colder weather.

2008-Office is built in Uptown-but it’s TOO LOUD to talk to customers! YIKES!  We learn from experience.  The office is moved to the daycare area in the house.

2006-2007-Downtown condos (indoor kennels) and horse barn are renovated.

2005-2006-Uptown lofts (indoor-outdoor kennels) are renovated.

2006-Valley of the Hounds went from dream to reality.

2005- The Valle family moved to beautiful Michigan!
